Widhya Asih Foundation

 

Who is Widhya Asih Foundation

Widhya Asih Foundation also known as the House of Knowledge and Love provides care to over 500 children aged 3 to 18 years in seven orphanages across the island of Bali, Indonesia. It has a long history in its work in Bali having been established since 1975.
Details of the orphanages are as follows:
  1. Widhya Asih I located in Denpasar, has 34 older children who are in senior high school or vocational high school.

  2. Widhya Asih II located in Blimbingsari village in the western part of Bali, has 74 children, ages between 5 to 15 years old with the majority being elementary school students.

  3. Widhya Asih III located in Singaraja northern part of Bali, has 110 children, their ages between 6 to 21 years old, they are in elementary until university.

  4. Widhya Asih IV located in Untal-Untal village (North Kuta) southern Bali, has 69 children. They are aged between 9 to 16 years old attending elementary through to senior high school. This residence cares for girls only.

  5. Widhya Asih V located in Melaya village, Western Bali, has 124 children, aged between 7 and 16 years old, but mostly they are in junior high school.

  6. Widhya Asih VI located in Bangli village North East Bali, has 29 children, aged between 7 and 15 years old, attending elementary through to senior high school.

  7. Widhya Asih VII located in Amlapura village eastern of Bali, has 18 children, aged between 14 to 16 years old, mostly they are in senior high school.
Beside the management of the orphanages, Widhya Asih Foundation also has other projects working with children and widows, called Community Development based on Children (CDC). CDC support is given through paying for childrens' school fees, farming, and economic development.
